The Maryland Capital Chapter was chartered December 20, 1970, at the Maryland Inn in Annapolis, Maryland. Forty-seven charter members were installed by the Chesapeake Bay Charter Chapter (no longer an active chapter). Virginia Carpenter, one of the original members, still remains a member of the Maryland Capital Chapter.
The Maryland Capital Chapter has helped to form three chapters: South River, Severn River and Columbia. The Maryland Capital Chapter is the only chapter in existence today.
Our Maryland Capital Chapter has been active on the National Level. Member Casey Coven, was elected National President the 2009/2010 term. Also, the Maryland Capital Chapter hosted the District IV Conference here in Annapolis in 2010.
Meet the Board Members:
Our executive board of directors is a group of leaders elected by our membership, to make decisions on behalf of the members.
We encourage every member to serve on the board, or committees to reduce the time commitment needed, we have created more positions, with less responsibilities each, so that no one is overburdened.
Our board meets once a month, the first Wednesday of the month, at the offices of Kullman CPA, LLC in Annapolis. If you have a concern or comment about the chapter, we welcome you to join us at a board meeting, and make your opinion heard. Please contact our President, Alisa Griffin, in advance to ensure that you are included on our agenda.
